E3

Today is the first day of the three day annual video game and electronic media conference called E3. In 2006 the world got to see the Wii in use for the first time. And oh boy did it make an impact. Our society, believe it or not, is being changed by video games. They are in their infancy still, just as film, TV, books, CD's and Internet were at one point. Internet is still pretty young as well, but had grown alot in the last 20 years. Whatever the case may be, video games are starting to hit their full stride. When you get everyone from nursing home residents to children, girls to guys, Americans to Japanese, all partaking in the same form of "entertainment" that is a cultural phenomenon. When the media starts to move from just games to educational and fitness related software, you know it is a art form that has no limit. Video games are here to stay, they are becoming more main stream, highly acclaimed, and impact our lives in more important and extreme ways than ever before. Here's to another great E3, some more amazing releases by Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, and some entertaining, light hearted, news to get through the next few days enjoying.
