Whats George H.W. up to?
John McCain and George H.W. Bush (W.'s Dad), the 41st President of the United States, and a slew of reporters met at Bush home in Maine yesterday. The former Prez made a few significant statements, not about politics but about him personally and the way he lives his life. I like him, always did, I just wish his son had fallen a little closer to the tree. Check it out.
"When asked about Barack Obamas strategy in Iraq, Bush smiled. I defer to Sen. McCain on that, he said softly. I don't follow this day to day anymore. I sit by the ocean and watch the tide come in and go out."
"When asked if he was bothered that Obama plans to hold such large events overseas, Bush smiled. A little jealous is all, he said, adding that he thought the Democratic candidate would receive a warm welcome in Germany."
"Bush chatted with reporters at length, shaking hands and making small talk despite the urging of some aides. He joked about suffering from a disease (old age, that is), shared complaints about recent back troubles and divulged plans for skydiving on his 85th birthday next June."
